Our Master of Natural Resource Stewardship (M.N.R.S.) was designed for mid-level natural resource professionals who feel they’ve reached a plateau in their career and are looking to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary for advancement opportunities. You’ll finish this program as a well-rounded leader, equipped with an understanding of the interconnectedness of natural resource management systems and how that lends itself to solving real-world problems from a holistic viewpoint. The curriculum is immediately applicable to current issues within the industry today, with natural resource management courses that cover topics such as:
Natural environmental processes and how they interact with human systems
Rangeland Ecosystems Entry RequirementsThe Master of Natural Resource Stewardship requires that students have the following: - A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution - A 3.0 GPA on all undergraduate coursework. Exceptions to this are made on a case-by-case basis. - No specific prior coursework is required. Coursework in biology, chemistry, and statistics is recommended. Applications are reviewed holistically, and certain job experiences may exempt someone from specific academic coursework. In other instances, some additional undergraduate courses may be required to meet knowledge gaps. - Some natural resource experience is required. All types of experiences (volunteer, paid, etc.) over any length of time are considered. Applicants should submit - Statement of purpose
- Three letters of recommendation - One official transcript from every institution you have attended. - Official TOEFL or IELTS scores (only for international applicants) The minimum score for applicants is 80 on the internet-based test (550 on the paper-based test or 6.5 on the IELTS). The ultimate purpose of the degree program is to provide students with a scientific understanding of ecological and social systems, which then can be applied in a policy or management context. Entry RequirementsThe bachelor’s degree program is open to students who possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
