The possibilities are endless for building a stimulating career in the community - not just behind a desk. Offered both on campus and online, the course is consistently refreshed to meet the needs of the community, government and police agencies for skilled staff. You will also benefit from academic staff who have worked in these areas and bring real-life examples and experience to your learning. At a theoretical level, you will engage with the concepts of social justice, human rights and equality to understand the way in which society defines, polices and punishes criminal behaviours. You will be job ready by exploring the most recent theory and practice of social justice, and gain problem-solving, analytical and applied computer skills that are relevant to the workplace. The program adopts a multidisciplinary approach, drawing upon policy, governance, ciminology, policing, intelligence, sociology, law, psychology and ethics. You might work in a state or federal public service role or in a corporate setting. This course develops your knowledge and expertise in corporate intelligence, national security intelligence practice, crime prevention, violence and organised crime. You'll be an equipped intelligence professional attuned to the context and environment in which you choose to operate. The course has been designed for professionals working in policing, correctional services, crime prevention, national security, defence services, customs, policy development and insurance and banking investigation. Most of our current students work in defence or intelligence areas and are enrolled in this course from across the globe. Many of our graduates secure promotions and expand their career opportunities because of their studies in this course. The Master of Justice (Advanced) Intelligence is a four year part-time course compared to the Master of Justice (Intelligence), which is a three year part-time course. The fourth year of study provides you with the opportunity to pursue a dedicated thesis in an intelligence area that you're really interested in. Entry RequirementsA completed recognised 3 year Bachelor Degree (or higher award) in a Justice related discipline with a minimum GPA of 4 (on a 7 point scale) Note: Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for the Masters program may be eligible for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Intelligence.
