Show More This is a web-based programme hosted within the School of Dentistry. The MRes programme provides a combination of interactive online learning and project work to help students to develop a critical evidence-based approach to planning services and improving oral health at a population level. The MRes will develop skills for health services research and be especially suitable for those who wish to study for a PhD subsequently but have limited experience of research. The MRes comprises 6 course units and a dissertation [180 credits]:
Biostatistics [15 credits] Qualitative Research Methods [15 credits] is a prerequisite for any students planning a qualitative dissertation. Students are advised to take at least two core course units in the first year of the course for part-time students, or in the first semester for full-time students. Entry RequirementsAcademic entry qualification overview There are two routes of entry: A recognised primary degree in a dental subject and a preferred minimum of two years post qualification experience A degree (minimum 2:2) in a non-clinical subject and preferably two years of working experience. Normally the degree will be in a science or social science subject and the individual will be working in some area with a link to oral health. In all cases, the degree held must be from a recognised institution.
English language requirements International students are required to have acceptable levels of English literacy, as demonstrated by any of the following: IELTS test 7.0 with no less than 7.0 in the reading and written components and no less than 5.5 in all components) TOEFL test 600 paper-based (with no less than 5.5 in the TWE - Test of Written English) TOEFL test 250 computer-based (with no less than 5.5 in the TWE - Test of Written English) TOEFL test: 100 (internet-based) (Minimum: Listening/Writing 17, Reading 18 and Speaking 20) Pearson-Test 66-73 (with no less than 51 each component)
