This program utilizes state of the art facilities, Sam Houston State University's Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics. The facility includes a Network Security Lab, accommodating training in data, network and cyber security intrusion detection, prevention and tracing, and a Data Recovery Lab that will provide training in the identification, recovery, and preservation of data for legal purposes. This degree is accessible to students who have completed undergraduate Computer Science or Criminal Justice majors or minors and to those with baccalaureate degrees in technical fields with the equivalent of a Computer Science or Criminal Justice minor in formal coursework or professional experience. Applicants who do not possess the appropriate academic, technical or experiential backgrounds may be required to take stem work courses. Entry RequirementsApplicants must have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 and higher. Today’s modern law enforcement agencies are requiring more in-depth knowledge and greater skill for their open forensic scientist positions. Brookline College’s traditional and online digital forensics degree program is an extensive program that prepares students for entry-level positions and a rewarding career in digital forensics and investigations. Each digital forensics course covers the same material whether you choose to complete the program in Tucson, AZ, or online. The classes are designed to provide students with a strong education in law enforcement concepts and theory and the technology behind the criminal justice and investigative processes. Non-immigrant Students * Proof of English Language Proficiency All non-immigrant student applicants must provide Brookline College with proof of English language skills to pursue enrollment with the College. Non-immigrant students can either: a) provide, in form of official transcripts successful completion of coursework from an accredited high school or English language school certified with SEVP, b) take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test to determine their language skills in English and meet the minimum score requirements. A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based and 84 on the internet-based TOEFL test is required as proof of proficiency in English. This test must be submitted directly from the testing organization to the campus, sent to the attention of the DSO, where the non-immigrant student is applying. Unless the primary language of the non-immigrant student is English, and the College can confirm, then the student is not required to take the TOEFL test. There is no limited amount of times a student can take a test. TOEFL test scores are valid for two (2) years after the test date. The official scores become part of the permanent student record once the student has enrolled with the College. * Financial Affidavit or Proof of Financial Support
