The role of clinical research managers (CRM) is rapidly expanding. The career field is particularly suited for nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals. Health care professionals from fields outside of nursing may complete the curriculum to obtain the MS in CRM, with completion of stated prerequisites. The CRM specialty takes a trans-disciplinary approach in providing an education strong in commercial and fiscal practices of conducting clinical research, ethical and regulatory aspects of research, and overall management of clinical drug, biological, and medical device trials. This program is unique in that it integrates principles of innovation and entrepreneurship for adoption into clinical research.

The program is designed to be flexible and conducive to the adult learner; part-time study is available. This 33-semester-hour program is offered online with an optional two-day orientation program. A six semester-hour capstone clinical research project is required.

Entry Requirements

Anyone who meets the following minimum criteria will be considered:

Bachelor degree in clinical research, health science, nursing, allied health, or life sciences,

or

Bachelor degree (in any other field) and research or healthcare related experience, and completion of all prerequisite courses. The following undergraduate 3-credit prerequisite courses, or their equivalent in background/experience, must be completed with a grade of C or better:

The Master of Clinical Leadership provides a pathway for health professionals seeking to develop and/or upgrade their clinical leadership and management knowledge skills. It also provides the opportunity for senior health leaders to develop best practice within clinical education and teaching contexts. Learning material from international and national sources of referenced work and public policy is delivered by academics who have worked in and researched health systems. The primary objective of the Master of Science in Health Sciences in the clinical management and leadership field is to develop management and leadership knowledge and skills for the practicing professional in health disciplines.
