Headache disorders are the most prevalent of the neurological conditions and among the most frequent of medical complaints seen in general practice.

Despite a new pathophysiological understanding of many headache disorders and the emergence of significant new treatments for headache over recent years, healthcare professionals remain undereducated and uncomfortable with diagnosing and treating primary headaches and headaches arising secondary to other medical conditions.
As primary headache disorders represent such a large part of the primary care practice, and secondary headaches are both commonly presented and frequently over-diagnosed, the average healthcare professional requires more education than currently seen in undergraduate studies.

Entry Requirements

An undergraduate degree, with an excellent or very good classification (equivalent to first or upper second class honours in the UK), in medicine, nursing, dentistry, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, chiropody or other allied disciplines involved in the management of headache disorders, plus the relevant clinical experience.

English language requirements

- IELTS Academic module: 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each section)
