This course is designed to deliver accessible, creative and flexible postgraduate business education and offer choices in how, when and where you study. The added focus on Banking will widen the application of your business management skills to include a range of career routes in the banking sector.

Entry Requirements

You will need a recognised Honours degree at 2:2 or above, or equivalent. Alternatively, you may have an equivalent professional qualification, or qualifications and experience, in which case you will be asked to complete a specified piece of work as part of the selection process, or attend an online interview.
In order to determine suitability for postgraduate study, information is sought through the application form. The process is designed to enable judgement to be made regarding equivalence to Honours degree outcomes:
Applicants without the required level of academic qualification, for example holders of a degree without honours may be considered if they have significant experience in a post of appropriate professional, administrative or managerial responsibility. It is anticipated that the additional experience will provide learning opportunities which will be regarded as equivalent to honours level outcomes.

Those applicants who do not possess an honours degree may be enrolled, in the first instance, as Associate students for the first trimester. Satisfactory performance on these modules may result in registration on the MSc Business Management programme.
Applicants with other relevant qualifications from recognised academic or professional institutions may be considered for entry where the learning outcomes from these qualifications can be satisfactorily matched against those of the MSc BM.
If appropriate, applicants may be required to provide evidence of competence in English (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 575).
All applicants are required to have an Internet connection.
The admissions process is designed to assure the programme team and the applicant that they will be able to undertake the programme. It also acts as a diagnostic process allowing the identification of students who may need additional guidance and support in undertaking postgraduate study

This combined program offers graduates the opportunity to pursue careers in agriculture and business related areas. Students can achieve disciplinary depth as well as the breadth of learning expected in agriculture and business degrees.

This combined program provides the opportunity to study in areas such as animal production systems and products, crop and pasture management, animal health and welfare, feedlot management, cotton crop protection, grains crop protection, poultry and sheep production, business information technology, micro and macroeconomics, economic perspectives of environment and food, farm and resource management, agribusiness marketing, commodity markets and banking and finance.

Assumed knowledge is any two units of Mathematics and English.

Recommended studies: Biology and/or Chemistry.

For students without the recommended background knowledge, the Faculty offers Foundation units in Chemistry and Mathematics.

The Bachelor of Business (Banking) will provide you with a solid foundation in business economics, accounting and management practices, financial institutions and markets, international finance, commercial banking and business and finance law. The course presents you with the formal educational requirements for managerial positions in banking and other financial institutions anywhere in Australia and overseas, and combines practical and specialist subjects with those that have a more conceptual or theoretical base.

The course contains three workplace learning subjects, which provide students with the opportunity to undertake a business placement in each of their three years or stages of study. Through these subjects, you will have the opportunity to secure a placement and gain first-hand experience working in a banking or financial organisation.
