The Business Administration program offered here at Independence University prepares our graduates for a variety of responsible managerial positions in both domestic and international firms. The objectives of the program are to provide a foundation in accounting, sales and marketing, operations management, human resource management and banking and finance that will provide our graduates with an integrated understanding of modern business as well as the economic concepts that guide the global economy. Business Administration graduates have the opportunity to gain employment in entry-level to mid-level positions as an office manager, account manager, small business developer, human resource assistant or sales manager.
Education and Opportunities in the Field of HR Students earning an emphasis in Human Resources will be prepared to apply business principles to the strategic function of human resources management. Topics covered by our courses include sourcing, recruiting, hiring, retention, talent mapping, training and developing employees, benefits and compensation policies, employment law, organizational development and conflict resolution strategies. Possible areas of employment for our graduates include entry-level positions in human resources such as human resource generalist, specialist positions in benefits, positions in staffing and recruiting, and human capital development and training. Entry RequirementsStudents seeking admission to the Bachelor of Science in Health Science program must be a graduate of an associate’s degree level, health sciences program (i.e., medical assisting, respiratory therapy, nurse education, surgical technology, etc.) from an accredited institution or have completed sufficient college credit to attain the equivalent of an associate’s degree in the discipline of health science. Prospective students should also have completed an appropriate number of credit hours of general education (e.g., 15 semester credit hours and 22.5 quarter credit hours). Applicants for admission must have graduated from an accredited high school, private secondary school, or have completed the equivalent (GED).
International Applicants Applicants to an undergraduate associate’s or bachelor’s program must provide an official or attested transcript of completed high school work translated into English and certified to be at least equivalent to the credential required by the college in its admissions criteria. Entry RequirementsAdmission to the program may be achieved by meeting the following requirements: Satisfactorily fulfill graduate admission requirements for Brandman University as stated in the catalog (see the Graduate Admission section). A GPA between 2.5 and 2.99 (MAE/MAT requires 2.75-2.99) calculated over the most recent graded 30 semester (45 quarter) credits completed in either a baccalaureate or post baccalaureate program, including credits earned toward a credential, is required. In addition, a candidate must submit a satisfactory score on an accepted graduate admissions exam (GRE, GMAT, CSET, or MAT).: - Graduate Record Exam (GRE): achieve the required minimum scores on two out of three of the subsections of the GRE.
