Opportunities for accountants and auditors are growing more quickly than average according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics — at a rate of 22% over the next decade. Entry Requirements

1. Prior Degree Requirement: Prospective graduate students must have completed a bachelor’s or graduate degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or have completed a three- or four-year bachelor’s degree at a foreign college or university recognized as degree-granting by the government of that country.

Students must have a bachelor's degree with a major in business or a related discipline to be admitted to this MBA program. Students without a bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline must enroll in the Master of Business Administration in Business Management (MBABM) program.

2. Program Grade Point Average (PGPA): Prospective graduate students must have achieved a PGPA of 2.70 or better for all undergraduate courses attempted or a PGPA of 3.00 or better for at least 6.00 semester credit hours of graduate study, as evidenced by an official transcript from each college or university attended.

3. Interview: Prospective graduate students must complete an interview with the graduate program chair or a Herzing University admissions representative.

International Admissions Requirements

In order to be issued an I-20 authorization from the University, non-immigrant applicants must meet the University’s general admissions
requirements, as well as program admission requirements where applicable, and provide the following documentation:

1. A certified copy of college transcripts, which includes all courses pertinent to receiving the bachelor’s degree, evaluated by a transcript
evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or translated and certified as an
official document by an active Herzing University international affiliate college or university.

2. A notarized statement of financial support or a certified government sponsor letter indicating that tuition will be paid in advance of
each academic period (tuition for the first two semesters must be paid upon enrollment) and that all necessary living expenses for the
international applicant will be provided. (Form I-134 may be used and is available online from the BCIS.)

3. Proof of English-language proficiency through any one of the following:

a. A score of 550 or higher on the paper-based TOEFL.

b. A score of 213 or higher on the computer-based TOEFL.

c. A score of 80 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL.

d. A score of 6.0 or higher on the IELTS.

e. Documentation of successful completion from a University-approved college preparatory ESL program of an intermediate English course from an accredited designated ESL center college or university or an ESL center.

f. Documentation of a minimum of 4 years of successful completion of secondary studies (i.e., high-school level) in an English-speaking school whose language of instruction is English.

g. Documentation of successful completion of post-secondary studies (i.e., college-level) in English (a minimum of 12 semester hours)

h. Documentation of successful completion of 4 years of secondary English language studies and one semester (or equivalent) of college-level English from an accredited college or university.

i. Documentation of alternative measures of English language proficiency, as deemed appropriate by Herzing University.

We expect a prerequisite knowledge of probability and calculus to an undergraduate level; this means students will typically be Mathematics, Statistics or Physics graduates. We will consider graduates from other disciplines on an individual basis and applicants may be subjected to mathematics assessment at the application stage.

A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance will prepare you for more advanced positions within the finance industry or the business marketplace as a whole. Areas covered include banking, investments, insurance and portfolio management.

You will learn critical thinking skills, statistics, financial math and valuation principles. Even if you do not work in the field of finance, you will have an appreciation of financial topics that can help in your everyday life. Since the passage of the Revenue Act of 1978, many organizations eliminated the pension (defined benefits plan) and replaced it with the 401K (defined contributions plan), so finance is important to individuals as well as organizations. In a recent survey of employees, it was determined that the most important benefit provided was the 401K; it was also the most misunderstood.

This program offers an interactive educational instruction by using different types of media. Students have access to a library of videos created by Sullivan University faculty. Therefore, students always have access to an instructor. This is quite helpful if, when doing homework, a student forgets which functions to use in Excel or what number to use in a formula. In addition, the Finance department attempts to infuse each lecture with the most up-to-date and relevant tools being used by practitioners in the field.

Entry Requirements

Students seeking admission to an online undergraduate program must meet the following admission requirements prior to the start of the first course at Ashford University:

Have a regular high-school diploma earned through college preparatory or regular high school courses or GED equivalency recognized by the Department of Education of the state in which it was earned, completed secondary school through home schooling as defined by state law, or earned an equivalent to a US high school diploma at an international high school according to approved Foreign Evaluation services. An earned IEP or Special Education Diploma or Certificate of Completion based upon IEP goals does not meet the regular high school diploma requirement for admission to Ashford University. If no high school degree was earned, applicants who have successfully completed at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited postsecondary institution, as defined by Ashford University transfer credit policies, may be admitted.

Be 22 years of age or older, or be exempt from this requirement by meeting one of the following criteria:

- Earned a minimum of 30 transferable credits* as defined by Ashford University transfer credit policies;

- Earned an Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally or approved nationally accredited institution; or

- Seeking readmission to Ashford University after withdrawal from a degree program; or

- Current degree-seeking student at Ashford University requesting to change majors.

Have the ability to study English indicated by one of the following:

- Achieved a recognized high school diploma or equivalent in which the primary language of instruction was English

- Received a GED that was taken in English

- A minimum of 30 credits have been earned from regionally or approved nationally accredited colleges/universities in the United States or equivalent in which the primary language of instruction was English; or
