Apply real-world scenarios to achieve pragmatic and professional results for projects in advertising and public relations. Entry RequirementsCompletion of a bachelor’s degree from an institution that is accredited by an accrediting association that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. At the discretion of the Chair of Academic Programs, graduate admission requirements may be waived upon successful completion of 6 credit hours as a student at large. Communication Studies Bachelor's Degree Program Benefits A bachelor's degree in Communication Studies is one of the most versatile degrees offered today, and it can provide a variety of options in fields where you are interacting with others and enacting positive change. The program is specially designed for adult students who are busy with work and family commitments. Students take one course at a time with classroom-based courses meeting one night a week for five weeks. Students can choose to complete the coursework online.
Online courses typically run for five weeks and weekly assignments may be completed around your schedule. Students have direct access to professors who are also professionals in the field. Entry RequirementsCCU sets test scores and grade point averages as our minimum level of acceptance for traditional undergraduate students. Normally, the minimum requirements for admission are:
2.8 High School GPA; Students who do not meet these minimum requirements are encouraged to apply and the University will consider their application under a committee review process which may include a personal interview. Factors such as essay content, recommendation content, and extracurricular activity all contribute to an individual admission decision.
International Student Requirements As an international student, you must meet regular entrance requirements and follow standard application procedures. In addition, you will need to demonstrate the ability to understand college-level English. All non-native English speaking undergraduate students must achieve a minimum score of 550 or better on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
If you are admitted on a student visa you must be enrolled for at least twelve semester hours of credit. In order to work off campus, international students must meet with the International Student Coordinator at CCU to obtain permission from the United States Immigration authorities.
