Show More A degree in business management provides students with core business skills and knowledge that can be applied to a vast number of careers. Graduates of the associate and bachelor's degree programs will understand the function of each unit/department that makes up a business and how each is equally vital in ensuring positive performance of the company. Coursework in the Herzing University business management degree programs include accounting, management, business law, economics, marketing and sales, and technology classes; electives allow the student to focus on a main interest within the business field. In addition to subject knowledge, students in the business management degree programs learn how to think critically, creatively find solutions to business problems, communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing), and utilize industry-standard computer software for data collection and analysis. A degree in business management is ideal for the individual who either wishes to work in an office setting or own a business. Skills learned will be applicable to any industry including finance, industry, manufacturing, healthcare and education. Those interested in pursuing a business-related career should be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment. They should also be comfortable using a computer and present themselves in a professional manner.
Business Management Concentrations
Business Administration, Entry RequirementsAn applicant must have a high school diploma or the equivalent. The University recognizes the following A GED A certificate demonstrating that the student has passed a state-authorized examination (for example, the California High School Proficiency Exam) that the state recognizes as the equivalent of a high school diploma. Note that certificates of attendance and/or completion are not included in this qualifying category. An academic transcript of a student who has successfully completed at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree (i.e., an associate’s degree).
International Admissions Requirements An I-20 document is required, and will be issued once you meet the University’s general undergraduate admissions requirements and provide the following information: A certified copy of your high school and college transcripts evaluated by a transcript evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). All documents, diplomas, and transcripts not written in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation. ACT/SAT scores or transcripts from post-secondary coursework applicable for placement into the intended program. This document will replace entrance exams, which Herzing University does not administer beyond the U.S. and Canada. You may also be required to pay for a professional evaluation of your transcripts. A notarized statement of financial support or a certified government sponsor letter indicating that tuition will be paid in advance of each term (tuition for the first two semesters is due upon enrollment), and that all necessary living expenses will be provided. (Use form I-134 available online from the BCIS.) Proof of English-language proficiency through one of the following:

The program combines education and experience in both technical and managerial skills to prepare students for leadership roles in the construction profession. With its comprehensive, management-oriented focus, the program helps students understand the impact of construction on the environment and society and prepares students to be leaders in this exciting field. The bachelor of science in construction management includes a 90-credit major plus 30-36 credits of foundational studies (general education) for a total of 120-126 credits. The student may or may not need the additional 6 credits beyond 120 depending on whether they have qualified high school or transfer language credit hours. Previously earned college credit can be applied toward completion of the program per these transfer guidelines. The program provides instruction in: building design and planning; environmental control systems; principles of quality concrete and the proper techniques used in the field; project management, including construction costs, budgets, bids, critical path scheduling, inspection, manpower utilization, and cost control; theories of forces in building structures; and use of tapes, levels, and transits to layout structures, determine elevations, and locate boundaries. Courses in the major are developed and taught by full-time professors who have work experience in the field. Students gain real-world experience through participation in the Co-op/Internship Program, which provides actual work experience.
