Show More The Master of Professional Studies in the field of Advocacy in the Global Environment offers innovative experiential learning opportunities for professionals involved in all aspects of global politics and advocacy, from lobbying to strategic public relations, campaigns and influence building. The program provides a hands-on education – not simply a theoretical exploration of advocacy around the globe. Beyond being taught by experts in the global advocacy field, the unique Global Perspective Residencies will give participants first-hand ‘in-region’ experiences. Students will get a real sense of how governments are influenced and will have the ability to network with top political, governmental, media and business leaders. This dynamic graduate program prepares students to succeed in the growing professional of global advocacy – whether they work for multi-national corporations, international non-profits, individual governments or quasi-international government entities. Entry RequirementsApplicants with an overall undergrad GPA, including transfer credits, of 3.0 (no rounding of GPA) and above are not required to submit scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Applicants with an overall undergrad GPA, including transfer credits, below 3.0 must do AT LEAST one of the following: - Take the GRE and request ETS to have official scores be sent to GWU (school code: 5246). - Submit a petition based on three or more years of relevant professional experience, consisting of a descriptive essay and a corresponding portfolio of work as

Show More The Master of Environmental Advocacy degree is aimed at staff and volunteers of environmental organisations, businesses and international non-government organisations (NGOs), as well as conservationists, teachers, Land Care officers, citizens concerned about environmental issues, sustainability officers and environmental education officers working for local, state and federal governments. Governments, councils and business are increasingly employing environmental officers and consultants, and initiating environmental programmes e.g. the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water, and NSW's Sustainability Programs Division. Therefore, there is a growing demand for persons qualified to work as environmental advocates. Environmental NGOs are playing an ever greater role in global, regional and local affairs.
