Entry Requirements

To qualify for admission to an advanced degree program at Strayer University, we require the following credentials:

1. Proof of completion of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Any undergraduate major will be considered, but if it varies widely from a proposed graduate major, you may need to take certain undergraduate foundation courses.

2. Satisfactory performance in at least one of the following areas:

- A minimum cumulative score of 450 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

- A minimum cumulative score of 1,000 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

- A 2.75 undergraduate grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the junior and senior years of the Baccalaureate degree (that is, the second half of the credits required for the degree, normally the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours).

- Evidence of graduate potential. Special consideration may be given to applicants who show graduate potential and have a minimum of three years of professional or business experience. A personal interview with a Campus Dean is required.

Our online MBA program is crafted to support professionals who are seeking credentials necessary to qualify for management and leadership positions, both in government and industry. MBA core coursework and projects focus on developing your leadership skills, enhancing your understanding of new technologies, strengthening your ability to use technology to solve business problems, and understanding the process of innovation. Specialization options include leadership, information assurance, information technology, or technology management law and policy. An additional specialization option emphasizing acquisition in the federal government and DoD contracting arena is under development. Students complete the 36-39 credit hour program through a combination of accelerated 8-week terms and 16-week semesters.

Applicants who possess an undergraduate degree in business are waived from completing MBA-600 “Fundamentals of Professional Management.” All other MBA-students must complete it. MBA-600 provides a broad foundation in accounting, finance, economics and statistics.
